About Us

About Kappa Delta

In 1897, four young women at State Female Normal School of Virginia (now Longwood University) joined together with a common vision — to create something “higher and nobler,” an organization that would empower women through friendship and high ideals. Over 125 years later, the sorority continues to live the dream of its founders by providing a lifelong experience for our members through support and sisterhood.

The Kappa Delta experience offers members the chance to leave their mark on the future and impact the lives of members and those in need around the world. Contributions to the Kappa Delta Foundation from alumnae, collegians and friends enable the sorority to further its philanthropic efforts, local community outreach programs, as well as scholarships and educational opportunities for members.

We have chosen to become Kappa Deltas because we believe that, in some way, all of us can be better together than each of us can be alone. That is the strength of Kappa Delta. Learn more about Kappa Delta Sorority and the Kappa Delta Foundation by visiting our national organization’s website.

About Delta Pi

Since our founding at Middle Tennessee State University on March 15th, 1969, the women of the Delta Pi chapter live each and every day upholding our Motto: "Let us strive for that which is honorable, beautiful, and highest".Sisterhood is the common tie that binds all Kappa Delta members. Being a KD means belonging to a group of exceptional women who will stand by your side through both the good times and the bad and will love you no matter what. Kappa Delta accepts its members for who they are and challenges them to develop into the women that they dream of becoming. We as sisters inspire members to reach their potential by offering opportunities for leadership, personal development, academic success and community service. To Kappa Deltas, confidence is very important and we constantly work to promote confidence in our sisterhood and also in the community. To promote confidence in the community, KDs work with the Girl Scouts of America and Prevent Child Abuse America. Kappa Delta members aspire to become the best versions of themselves that they can be, and this is our wish for every sister who seeks to strive for that which is honorable, beautiful, and highest.
